FAQ
What gets asked most often.
Working together
- What does it cost?
The rate depends on who I work for: it is higher for business customers than for private individuals.
With new businesses and in difficult financial situations I usually find a way. Just ask — that has never been what stopped anything.
For larger undertakings you get a quote beforehand, so you know where you stand.
- When are you available?
Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Outside those hours I am available for emergencies, against a surcharge. There is no separate emergency number — you reach me on the same number as always, and the same person answers.
- Which area do you work in?
Mainly German-speaking Switzerland, with a focus on the north-west and the east.
On site where the job calls for it. But a lot can be done remotely — often faster than anyone could get there.
- How does working together start?
With a conversation. You describe what it is about, I tell you what I make of it and roughly what it will take.
That costs nothing and usually settles more than comparing quotes.
Technical
- Do you also take over existing systems?
Yes. A large part of my work is taking over environments that have grown over the years and putting them in order — not replacing everything.
It starts with taking stock: what is there, what works, what should be replaced. Often less is needed than feared.
- Where is my data?
If I set up the storage, in Switzerland. I run my own cloud solutions so that your data does not sit with a provider whose terms can change at any time.
Where you want to keep using existing services, I tell you what to watch out for.
- What happens if you are unavailable one day?
With a sole proprietorship that is a fair question.
I document the environments I look after so that another professional can take them over. Credentials and documents are yours and are handed over on request at any time.
